AccuQuilt - A Company of Quilters

Steve-2

CEO

I equate business to coaching a football team in my role as AccuQuilt’s CEO, aka Chief Energizing Officer. My favorite sayings are “Head West!”, “Where's the puck?” and “It's only creative if it sells.” My team is familiar with other ‘Steve-isms’ such as “since Hector was a pup” and “the customer is king.”

Though I received my mechanical engineering degree from Iowa State, MBA from Kansas University and YPO Executive MBA from Harvard Business School, I’m a Nebraska Cornhusker who loves GO BIG RED football.

I married my high school sweetheart and have the two greatest kids on earth and one in Heaven. I’m happiest in the great outdoors racing Ironman Triathlons, hunting with our two black labs, or traveling with family.

I am blessed with a great team and customers who challenge us to be the best. Thank you all for your support and for pushing AccuQuilt to continuously move forward and always ‘Head West!’

Greg-3

President

As AccuQuilt’s president, or Chief Opportunity Officer, I’m known for asking our team to “show me the math.”

I am a city boy turned country guy. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and attended Western Illinois University where I earned my degree in Marketing. While in college, I met the love of my life who I have now been married to for over 25 years.

We have two amazing children who are both “Husker” grads, so “Go Big Red” is a common phrase in our household. Our other child is a 120 lb black lab named Ned.

When I’m not on the hunt for new opportunities or negotiating a deal, you’ll find me spending time with my family and friends, grilling steaks, watching Husker football or fishing in Wisconsin.

Controller

As AccuQuilt's controller, it's my responsibility to maintain accurate financials, manage business risk and oversee the cash in and out of the company. There isn't a department or division that my work doesn't touch.

I received my Bachelor's in Accounting and Master's in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. From there, I honed my skills in the manufacturing sector while working at Phillip's Manufacturing.

I joined AccuQuilt in 2012 because I was drawn to the company's focus on being the best at what they do. The enthusiasm and dedication to providing the best product for their customers was clear while I toured the company and spoke with the employees. I enjoy that every day brings new knowledge, new learning, new challenges and new opportunities.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my son and staying active in my church.

Director of Product Development

As Director of Product Development, I’m responsible for overseeing product planning, vision and direction, product roadmap execution, and product portfolio strategy. I have a passion for building brands through innovative product design and exceptional customer service. It brings me great joy to see an idea taken from concept to the end user and hearing how it changed their life.

For the past 20 years, I’ve held various marketing and creative positions of increasing responsibility within TekBrands. My focus is to make AccuQuilt a household name and develop products that enhance the quilting experience.

I’ve been instrumental in creating the AccuQuilt GO!® and Studio™ brand identities and spearheading the launch of the GO! Big® electric fabric cutter, GO! Qube™ boxed sets, GO! Block on Board® (BOB®) dies and GO! Me™ Easy Fabric Project Maker.

Outside of work, I’m an artist at heart. You’ll find me outdoors exploring with camera in hand or contemplating composition and color in one of my many unfinished quilting or design projects.

Dawn-2

Director of Marketing

As the Director of Marketing, I am the keeper of the brand with responsibility for developing marketing strategies that encourage customer interaction and growth.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with majors in advertising and public relations from the University of Nebraska. For over 25 years, I have been championing brands in both corporate and advertising agency settings. Prior to AccuQuilt, I was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Godfather’s Pizza - Omaha's hometown pizza.

I believe marketing can influence positive change. At AccuQuilt, that means providing unique and innovative cutting solutions that allow quilters, especially those with physical ailments, to continue doing what they love.

While advertising, media relations, website development, events and sponsorships are my responsibilities, I’m a creative at heart and love writing, producing and designing.

In my spare time, I enjoy interior decorating, pool time and socializing with friends and family.

Director of Talent & Organizational Development

As Director of Talent & Organizational Development, I’m responsible for overseeing all people operations and monitoring organizational climate, culture, and strategies. My primary goal is leadership and talent development using strategic problem solving, process redesign and performance management to support individuals and the company.

I have an education in industrial and organizational psychology and 13 years of experience in recruiting, training and Human Resources Management. My background has given me a highly analytical approach with just enough understanding of the human mind to be dangerous.

Outside of the office, I'm  a self-proclaimed hermit who is happiest in my living room doing jigsaw puzzles or reading the latest leadership and development book while my wild bunch of two cats, two dogs, four kids and awesome husband play video games and hang out together.

Here We Are, Heading West

Our Journey and Our Values

At AccuQuilt, every day is a new opportunity to create, improve and grow. Our core value is to Head West and it is just as ingrained in our culture as it is in how we approach our products. Bottom line, there is no book on how to be the best fabric cutter on the market, but that's the journey we're on and the goal we hold. When we say "Head West", we mean to embrace change, explore opportunities and push boundaries.

Our hiring process takes time, but the result is a team of innovators who are up to the challenge of owning their work and being the best at what they do.

Sound like you? Let's talk.
